Notes:
Incidence of Kawasaki disease is clearly greater in Asians, probably due to genetic predisposition. There is a male predominance. Peak of age is between 18 and 24 months in USA, between 6 and 12 months in Japan. Recurrence rate is low. The disease can be sporadic or epidemic, with nationwide epidemics or regional outbreaks.
