Atypical Kawasaki: Case 2

• 9 years-old boy

• 4 days high fever - arthralgia - weakness

• pharyngitis 3 w before, R/ AB

• Ex: generally well

bilateral non-purulent conjunctivitis

cervical poly-adenopathy

reddened lips, erythematous tongue and throat

mild hepatosplenomegaly

Hips, knees and elbows tender on motion

Laboratory shows aspecific inflammatory syndrome. Blood and throat cultures are negative. The fever persists despite 48 hours of intravenous antibiotics. Cardiac ultrasound performed at that time shows coronary lesions in this atypic case.
