• Now: 2 g/kg in 10 hours

• Unknown antiinflammatory effect

• Antitoxin-specific antibodies?

The gold standard treatment is one course of intravenous gammaglobulin (2g/kg). Gammaglobulin probably works by a global antiinflammatory effect. Some results show that gammaglobulin contains a lot of specific antibodies directed against bacterial toxins. Therapy can be repeated in case of symptoms persistence.
