BELGIAN NATIONAL FUNDING FOR INNOVATIVE MEDICAL DEVELOPMENTS IN THE FIELD OF PEDIATRIC DISEASES
has been founded by belgian pediatricians from the seven Belgian University
Hospitals . Their aim is to raise national funds for pediatric medical research
and clinical care as detailed here below.
Aims:
Principal: - Improve the management of severe pediatric
diseases by promoting medical research and actions for the wellfare/wellbeing of
the sick children. This
- Support R&D for novel therapeutic approaches in pediatric medicine
-
Give priority in clinical research, close to clinical problems
-Priority to
fields who do not have alternative financial support(foundations, ASBL) : rare
diseases, not well known in the public
-Increase public awareness/knowledge
of these rare or poorly known diseases
-Financing research : equipment,
manpower, daily costs
-Financing clinical nurses , data manager, patient's
corodinator, for precise clinical projects
-Support centers of excellence in
different fields of pediatrics. -Improve the wellbeing of sick children ,
paliative care, family support
